Anna May Smith, age 79 and a long-time resident of Essington, passed away on November 10, 2021. A graduate of Ridley Park High School Class of 1959, Anna married her husband just 2 years later and was a devoted wife and mother for the past 60 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran and St. John's The Evangelist Churches, as well as a member of Friendship Chapter 551, Order of the Eastern Star, Delaware County Homes Auxiliary, Order of the Amaranth, White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Ladies Auxiliary of Penn Forrest of Tall Cedars of Lebanon. She is predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Mary Schartner of the Lester section of Tinicum, and sisters Nancy and Patricia. Survivors: Beloved wife of 60 years of John T. Smith, Jr., loving mother of John III, Eric, Laurie (Tom), and Aubrey (Fred), cherished grandmother of Rebecca, Veronica, Christine, Jake, and Ciara, dear great grandmother of Destiny, Hope, Faith, Grace, and Serenity, sister of Frederick Schartner. Viewing: 1-3Pm on Monday, at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden PA 19036 Funeral Service: 11AM on Tuesday at St. Johns Evangelist Church, 16 W 3rd St, Essington, PA 19029 Burial on Tuesday at Lawncroft Cemetery, Linwood PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Village at Warminster, 850 N Norristown Rd, Warminster, PA 18974
