Obituary of Alexander J Narcavage

Alexander J. Narcavage "Sonny" "Big Al" age 82 a longtime resident of Norwood since 1966 passed away suddenly on January 10, 2022 at home.

 

Alex retired from Kimberly Clark (formerly Scott Paper) and previously employed by Sun Ship and Drydock Company and he was a member and Shop Stewart for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local #802.

 

He was an active and dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Norwood where he ran a bereavements group for years and participated for over 30 years in gift card/ certificate programs through the church as fundraisers. He served on several committees and boards at the church.

 

He was also a member of the Rod and Gun Club of Delaware County.

An avid outdoorsman, Alex enjoyed fishing, hunting and trip to the family mountain house in Promised Land, PA.

 

He was a generous man who donated blood for over 30 years to the American Red Cross and previously his time as a volunteer for the Norwood Athletic Club.

 

A Philadelphia sports teams fan, he also enjoyed country western music and shows, polka music, pierogis and kielbasa.

 

He will be missed dearly.

 

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Miriam A. Narcavage with whom he shared 49 years of marriage, his sister Leona Narcavage and brother in laws Jack "John" Swantek and Frank Haschak.

 

Survivors: Beloved husband of Janice Narcavage, loving father of Robert (Bonnie) Narcavage, Kevin (Kimberly) Narcavage and Joan (Patrick) Paglia, cherished grandfather of Angela, Adrienne, Kevin, Emily, Nathan, Nicholas, Alexis and Olivia, dear brother of Genevieve (Ken) Littlewood, Eleanor Haschak and Michael (Elfreda) Narcavage and many nieces, nephews and his devoted four legged dog Okie.

Funeral Service: 11am, Saturday January 22, 2022 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA 19036
