Obituary of Betty Ann Wharton

Betty Ann Wharton, age 88 of Glenolden, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022.

Born and raised in "The Meadows", Southwest Phila., Betty was a graduate of Bartram High School. She married her sweetheart James Wharton Sr. in 1954 and together they moved to Glenolden where they lived for over 60 years and raised their family. Together they loved dancing, traveling, and spending time at the beach. Betty worked in the kitchen at Glenolden Elementary School for many years, and was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. A social person, Betty loved spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed family gatherings with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband James Wharton Sr., parents George and Gladys Koch, and siblings Helen McGowan, Jane Seichepine, and George Koch Jr..

Survivors: Loving mother of James (Francyne) Wharton Jr., Karen Piselli, Kevin (Carol) Wharton, and David (Kimberly) Wharton, cherished grandmother of James III, Natalie, Jason, AJ, Drew, and Sydney, dear great grandmother of Levi, Quinn, Colton, Julianna, and Bowie and one more on the way, and beloved dog Lilly.

Funeral Service: 10AM on Tuesday 5/3 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden PA.

Viewing: 7-9PM on Monday 5/2 at the funeral home, and 9:30-10AM on Tuesday prior to the service.

Burial: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall PA
