Ray O. Small, age 90 and a lifelong resident of Collingdale, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2022. A graduate of Glen-Nor High School, Ray married his sweetheart Ruth in 1954 and went on to work at Scott Paper for many years before his retirement in 1992. He was a dedicated member of Collingdale Baptist Church. A talented saxophone player, Ray participated in the Lu-Lu String Band and Woodland String Band for over 40 years. He was also an active member of Collingdale Senior Citizens Group, Free Masons, and Shriners. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth J. Small (nee Johnston), son Robert Small, and sister Normal Small. Ray is survived by his dedicated daughter Cheryl (Edward) Sobel, loving grandchildren Edward Jr., Chad, and Matthew Sobel, Jennifer (Alvin) Stanley, Michelle, Robert, and Stephanie Small, as well as many great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11AM on Friday 8/19 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden PA. Viewing: 10-11AM on Friday 8/19 at the funeral home Burial: Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne PA In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, lovetotherescue.org
