Joseph T. Keenen Sr, 87, of Glenolden, PA, formally from Southwest Philadelphia entered his eternal home on July 28, 2023. Joe was a proud Irish American, who loved Irish music and being with his friends and family. His crazy sense of humor and silly jingles would always put a smile on your face. After high school Joe was employed by J. G. Brill Company, Fels Naptha and Acme Markets, then retiring from M. A. Bruder. Joe was an avid follower of football and baseball. He always looked forward to a good debate and was known to wager, particularly on Philly teams and horses. He liked and collected elephants, 82 was the last count! Joe enjoyed Sudoku, cryptograms, and word searches. and most of all, he loved John Wayne movies. Joe was a fiercely competitive and respected pinochle player, American dart shooter, and shuffleboard player. Joe is survived by his children; Kathy (Bill) Orr of Ocean View, NJ, Donna (Bill) Sarog of Earleville, MD, Joseph (Rosemary) Keenen, Jr. of Westville, NJ, and his grandchildren; Kevin Orr, Jennifer Orr, Michelle D'Armi, Will Sarog, Kenneth Sarog, Christine Fiore, Kimberly Glynn, Joseph Keenen, Matthew Keenen, Tiffanie Keenen, and Katelyn Keenen and 18 great grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his sisters Doreen (Joe) Sarkees and Lorraine (Jerry) Troutner and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his son Robert Keenen, grandson William Kosluk, his former wife Anita Keenen, his sisters; Mary Daggett, Annamae Horne, Catherine Daggett, his brothers; James Keenen, John Keenen, his parents; James and Anna Keenen. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA. 19036, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
