Michael "Mike" Dean Houlihan, 68, of Ridley, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 1, 2024. He was the son of the late Gerald "Dean" Houlihan and Helen (nee Sweeney) Houlihan. Mike graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1973, where he was a regular attendee of JUG (after-school detention). After exploring the world, while serving as a Merchant Marine, he married the love of his life, Patricia "Patty" (nee Conway) Houlihan, in 1984. Mike and Patty then embarked on their own adventure to the Florida Keys, where Mike built homes, including his own. After moving his family back to Delaware County, he began working as a Splicer for Verizon and was a proud member of the Communication Workers of America (CWA), until his retirement in 2018. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren, summers down the shore, and watching Philadelphia sports with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patti (Michael) McMahon and Gerri Houlihan. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; his three children, Amanda Doherty, Kristen Houlihan, and Michael Houlihan; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sheila (Carlo) Tursi, along with many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036 at 11 AM.
