Obituary of Rita Marchesani

Rita Marchesani, age 94 of Broomall, passed away on February 25, 2024 at home. A longtime faithful parishioner of St. Pius X Church, she was a devoted, caring, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be truly missed. Rita took pride and cherished her role as homemaker soon after her marriage to Domenick in 1950. She was a voracious reader. Rita had a passion for music which she instilled in her daughters, and enjoyed watching old movies. She liked to crochet and knit baby clothes and blankets. Rita excelled at cooking and each day throughout her marriage provided delectable meals for her family. She was a great role model, listener and confidant, and had a gift for being intuitive. Rita is predeceased by her husband of 73 years Domenick Marchesani; mother, Edith DeSero; father, Salvatore Sgueglia; stepmother, Emma Sgueglia; brother, Louis DeSero; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Survivors: Loving mother of Linda MarchesaniBatory, AnnMarie Marchesani, and Diane Marinelli. Cherished grandmother of David D. Batory (Sarah), Marisa Gilchrist (Walt), Elyse Marinelli (Randy), Stefana Erk (Timmy). Great grandmother of Jameson, Madalyn, Georgiana, Ben, Forest; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: 10 am Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd. Broomall, PA. 19008 Viewing: 9 -10 am in the church.
