Helen S. Curran ,88 years old of Aston, Pa was called home to Jesus on March 9, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother, talented baker known for her delicious and beautiful cakes and baked goods. She was a faithful daughter of the Lord and was a member of Glenolden Congregational Church for over 70 years. She served as a Trustee and was most recently Senior Deacon. She enjoyed singing in the choir, hosting dinners and ensuring the church was decorated for services and holidays with flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, retail therapy with a favorite being QVC and rooting for the Phillies.. Helen was born in Shamokin, PA and moved with her family as a teen to Glenolden. She is a proud graduate of Glen-Nor High School, Class of 1953 and enjoyed attending reunions and keeping in touch with classmates. Helen worked at J C Penney, Pennsylvania Institute of Technology and retired in 2000 from Widener University as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Hospitality Management. After retiring, she and her late husband, Robert, provided care for her grandchildren and friends' children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to Hawaii and Alaska. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert, Sr in 2009; son, Robert Curran, Jr. in 2020 and daughter, Donna Davis in 2021. Helen will be dearly missed by her surviving family including daughters Patti Curran, Denise Baksi (Jim), Holly Curran and son-in-law William Davis. She was a loving grandmother to Brittany Holland (Christopher), Tyler Baksi, Christopher Davis, Colleen Baksi and Justin Baksi. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends and church family. Helen was a dog lover and will be missed by Maggie Mae. Celebration of her life will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Glenolden Congregational Church at 115 South Scott Avenue, Glenolden, PA. Visitation will be at 10:00 with service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Glenolden Congregational Church Memorial Fund in Helen's memory.
