Obituary of Michael P Hennessy

Michael P. Hennessy "Mike" age 72 of West Wildwood, formerly of Collingdale, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024. Mike was a proud graduate of West Catholic Boys High School class of 1970. He was an active member of the alumni and Burrs committee. He worked for united parcel services for 27 years. As a proud union member, he served as a shop steward, business agent and president of Teamsters union 623. After retiring he worked as the code enforcer for Collingdale borough. Mike was a board member for the Collingdale swim club and Collingdale parks and recreation. He served St. Joseph's church as a member of the finance committee. Mike also served as the president of the board for Upper Darby BellTelco federal credit union. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Bernadette. They have been married for 52 years. After residing in Collingdale for 46 years they moved to West Wildwood, a town Mike loved. He loved the Eagles, the Phillies, golfing, fishing, the shore, the breakfast club, the Beatles and Irish music, especially Blackthorn. His greatest love was his family. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Alberta Hennessy, siblings Sarah and Dorothy, In Laws, Albert and Kathryn Becker, brother-in-Law Bud McLaney, and dear friend Gerry Gannon. Survivors: Beloved husband of Bernadette Hennessy, loving father of Michael (Helene), Megan, Joe (Amy), and his bonus daughter Margie, cherished pop of Zander, Hayden, Chase, Julia and Owen, dear brother of Tom(Joan), Larry(Donna) and brother in law of Kathy McLaney, Albert (Beth) Becker, Thomas (Helen) Becker and Richard (Ramona) Becker and nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
