Carl A. Newman age 91 of Media passed away on January 18, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Springfield, Carl was a man with many occupations spanning from Milkman, Police Officer to Horse Blanket Salesman to Truck Driver. Carl worked hard and happily until the age of 85. A well known local entertainer, Carl sang and played guitar at the Red Lantern and other local establishments for 25 years. He was a WWII veteran, an avid fisherman and a lover of dogs. Survivors: Beloved husband of Valerie J. Newman (nee Welch), loving father of Carol (Pete) Newman Lloyd, Catherine (Rick) Newman Bell and Rene (Nuno) Newman Martins, cherished grandfather of Florence, Ricky, Peter, Carl, Rebecca, Shawn, and Alison, and great grandfather of 14. Visitation: Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 10-11am at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S.
