Obituary of Joan M. Smith

Joan M. Smith (nee Ruane), age 81 of Ridley Park, passed away on June 8, 2018.

Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1954. She later went on to work for Scott paper before retiring in 1995. Joan was a member of many clubs including Red Hat Ladies, St. Madeline's Bowling League, Over 50 Club, and Notre Dame Alumni. She enjoyed swimming at the Ridley Area YMCA. Joan was loved by all.

She is predeceased by her husband William J. Smith, and daughter Kathleen Smith Cooper.

Survivors: Loving mother of Susan Smith, Patrick (Karen) Smith, Teri Smith, Daniel (Nanci) Smith, Joanne Smith, and Christina Smith (Stephen King), mother in law of Jim Cooper, sister of Joe, Jack, and Jeri, adored grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 8, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: 10AM on Friday at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022

Visitation: 7-9PM on Thursday and 8:30-9:30AM on Friday at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden PA 19036.

Burial: SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
