William R. Nichols "Bill", loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2018 at age 72. Bill served in the Navy upon graduating from high school, was a volunteer firefighter, and served as a Prospect Park Police Officer for 24 years until his retirement in 1998. He loved bowling, hunting, meticulously caring for his lawn and had a jolly laugh that was infectious to all those around him. He was a true gentleman, an instant friend no matter how long you knew him and his kind and generous spirit will be remembered always by those he loved. Bill is predeceased by his wife Julie Nichols, brother Barry Nichols, and sister Barbara Lynch. He is survived by his children, Jeanette (Mike) Nickerson, William (Karen) Nichols Jr., and Emily Rothera as well as his grandchildren Marshal and Autumn Skye, and his sister Sandra (Joe) Nagle. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday July 28th, at the Bible Baptist Church, 1237 Paoli Pike, West Chester, PA and will be preceded by a visitation at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill's name to the Delaware County FOP Lodge #27 Foundation, 201 N. Jackson St. Media, PA 19063. Online Condolences: www.mcgfh.com
