Obituary of Delilah B. McWilliams-Strother

Delilah B. McWilliams-Strother, also known to most of her family as "Mommy" or "Brenda", was at the age of 65 when she passed away on November 3, 2018. Delilah was born on March 31, 1953 to the late Max Savage and El Wilson. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Crowns Business Academy in Brooklyn. She loved bookkeeping and security, and wore many other hats in her life. Delilah later married the late Samuel McWilliams and had five wonderful blessing children. Throughout her life she met many people who left their mark on her heart. After some time, Delilah met the love of her life, her husband and best friend Raymond Strother. Together they raised their blended family in Marcy Housing in Brooklyn. Raymond and Delilah(Brenda) were known as "R and B", Rhythm and Blues, Red and Blue, they enjoyed living life and everything that came with it. To her cousins, Delilah was always called "Mommy". She was their protector and would protect all the kids around her, no matter who they were. She loved the children with all she was. People would see them coming a block away and would always say "here comes _________ kids!" Delilah is predeceased in death by her children Samuel, Shawn, and Kimberly, and son-in-law Thaddeus Cooke. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Raymond Strother. Loving mother of Jeffrey McWilliams and Shannett McWilliams-Yates, mother in law to their spouses Tanya Fernandez anf Hassan Yates, stepmother of Gwendolyn McWilliams, Edward Taylor, Michelle Strother, and Raymond Strother, Jr. She also leaves behind her sisters, Marie Savage-Ross, Dora Savage, Jennie Savage, Monique Savage, and brothers Max Savage (Jr.) and Jamel Savage, brother in law Walter Ross, and her most cherished Aunt, Eva Hayes, who she loved with her whole heart. She was a grandmother to 16, great grandmother to many, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. They called them "The Lil Rascals". A visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Saturday, November 10 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036.
