Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Clayton left this life and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the age of 98. She was married for over 50 years to her husband Jon who preceded her to heaven in 2004. Jon was part of America's "Greatest Generation", and served for four years during WWII in General George Pattons' 3rd Infantry Division until victory was declared in 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Margaret and Jon served in numerous ministries throughout their lives including the Gideons and The Christian Academy. They were deeply devoted to the ministry of their church, North Chester Baptist Church, for many years. Jon taught adult Sunday School for many years and Margaret was the church organist, pianist, and church secretary for decades. They had a severely handicapped son, Mark, and lovingly cared for him at home for the 16 years of his life. Jon wrote and published a book about Mark that touched the lives of countless people. Margaret is survived by a son, Tom (Anne), and daughter Barbara, five grandchildren, Alex, Jeremy, Sarah, Adam, and Hannah, and eight great-grandchildren. She lived at home until the last few months of her life and will be remembered as a kind and loving mom, grandmom, and great grandmom, who loved Jesus Christ above all. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 31st at North Chester Baptist Church, 2331 Providence Ave, Chester, PA 19013. Burial will be held privately. Donations can be made in her memory to North Chester Baptist Church, 2331 Providence Ave, Chester, PA 19013, or the Christian Academy, 4301 Chandler Dr, Brookhaven, PA 19015 "And those who know your name will put their trust in you; for you O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you."
